How much time do I need to book?
It depends on the length and complexity of the recording. A good rule of thumb is one day per song: three songs = three days, five songs = five days. This includes time to track, mix, and master a song properly. Budgeting more time allows for more nuanced recordings and a polished radio-ready final product. Under budgeting, time will require cutting corners somewhere in the project.
Things to consider when booking time.
Book early to ensure you get the days you want. Saturdays and Sundays are often booked weeks in advance. Weekdays are less expensive, and it is easier to book consecutive days for larger projects.
Can you Mix and Master remotely?
Yes, Mixing and Mastering do not require the artist to be in the studio. You can elect to attend mixing sessions if you pre-arrange them with Jason Groves.
Do you charge extra for mixing & mastering?
Yes. Mixing is an integral part of the process, and if you want your project to come out as good as possible, you should budget time for mixing even if you don't plan to attend (most mixing sessions are unattended). Again, the time needed for mixing/mastering depends mainly on the material's aesthetic.
I need to cut two minutes of vocals. Can I book for 1 hour?
Unfortunately, almost nothing in the studio takes one hour. We can book a half-day for smaller projects. Fill out the “Contact Us” link below for custom rates.
Do you offer internships?
Sorry, we aren’t accepting interns at this time.
